Welcome to Arrest Stories. A fifty-four-year-old Westlake woman faces felony breaking and entering charges after allegedly smashing windows and breaking into vehicles at a local BMW dealership during the early morning hours. Here's what may have happened.
In the early hours of September nineteenth, officers with the Westlake Police Department responded to an alarm at the Ganley BMW dealership. What they discovered was a scene of destruction that would lead to an arrest four days later.
According to police reports, between two-thirty and three in the morning, a suspect wandered through the dealership's parking lot armed with a long object. The individual allegedly used this tool to smash windows at the luxury car dealership before moving on to target vehicles in the lot.
The breaking spree didn't stop there. Police say the suspect entered multiple unlocked cars scattered throughout the parking lot, rummaging through the vehicles under cover of darkness. The most significant damage came when the suspect allegedly broke through a glass door on the east side of the dealership building.
Surveillance footage and witness accounts helped investigators piece together the suspect's movements. According to reports, the individual appeared to come from the direction of the nearby WestSpring Inn and returned the same way after the alleged crimes were committed.
The investigation continued for several days as officers worked to identify the suspect. On September twenty-third, police made contact with fifty-four-year-old Jody Elek at a local hotel. She was subsequently arrested and charged with felony breaking and entering in connection with the dealership incident.
The case highlights the ongoing challenges businesses face with overnight security, particularly at high-value locations like luxury car dealerships. The timing of the alleged crimes, occurring in the dead of night when the area was largely deserted, provided cover for the destructive spree that caused significant property damage.
All suspects presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Do not take this report as factual, always verify facts. Thanks for watching Arrest Stories.
