Welcome to Arrest Stories. A sixty-two-year-old Fort Worth woman stands accused of helping dispose of a flight attendant's body after an accidental voicemail recording allegedly captured her involvement in the deadly cover-up. Here's what may have happened.
On August twenty-sixth, Fort Worth police arrested Joni Thomas on charges of tampering with evidence in connection with the murder of flight attendant Soluri. According to official narratives, the case began unraveling on March twenty-first when Day allegedly strangled the victim on his kitchen floor after she began videoing him and threatened to call police.
Surveillance footage reportedly shows Day dragging what appeared to be a lifeless body into his backyard around ten p.m. that evening. The victim's final phone call occurred at three forty-three p.m., with her phone last pinging a cell tower at three fifty-two p.m.
Police reports indicate Day disconnected surveillance equipment before loading the body into a black trash bin. Thomas allegedly arrived with her pickup truck to assist in transporting the remains. The pair then embarked on a seventy-mile journey to Bowie, where they reportedly dumped the body off a bridge.
In what investigators describe as a calculated deception, both suspects left their phones at Day's Fort Worth home to create a false alibi. An official stated, "This is a clear effort by both Day and Thomas to deceive law enforcement and make it appear like they never left Day's house in Fort Worth, Texas, when they were dumping Soluri's body in Bowie, TX."
The case took a dramatic turn when Thomas accidentally butt-dialed a voicemail that allegedly captured incriminating conversations. Recorded voices could be heard moving something heavy, with phrases like "Make sure the lid's on" and "I'm I got you messed up in this."
Thomas initially denied letting Day use her truck but later changed her story, claiming she accompanied him but fell asleep during the trip.
All suspects presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Do not take this report as factual, always verify facts. Thanks for watching Arrest Stories.
