Welcome to Arrest Stories. Forty-one-year-old Everton Thomas has been arrested at the Port of Buffalo, New York on charges of first-degree murder and second-degree desecration of human remains in connection with a deadly shooting and alleged dismemberment that authorities say involved his entire family. Here's what may have happened.
According to police reports, the disturbing chain of events began on Monday, June twelfth, when Miller was playing cards with friends in Camden during the early morning hours. Surveillance footage shows Miller entering the Thomas family home on the twenty-six hundred block of Baird Boulevard shortly before eleven thirty a.m. that same day.
What happened next has shocked investigators. Police say video footage captured the sound of what appeared to be a single gunshot after Miller entered the property. Critically, authorities note that Miller was never seen leaving the property on any surveillance footage.
The alleged cover-up involved the entire Thomas family, according to prosecutors. After the shooting, Everton Thomas allegedly moved Miller's vehicle and parked it in Pennsauken. Meanwhile, his wife Parker and son Deshawn Thomas purchased a chainsaw, containers, trash bags and other cleaning supplies.
Police reports detail how the father and son made several trips to the Tamarack Apartments dumpsters off Davis Avenue in the Whitman Park section, loading containers and trash bags into a vehicle before leaving the city. Authorities believe Miller's body was dismembered with the chainsaw in the basement where he was allegedly shot.
During the investigation, recorded conversations allegedly captured Parker Thomas saying a wife got to do what she's got to do and expressing hope about giving up her husband, while also stating I wish they never find him.
The case has sent shockwaves through both Camden and Gloucester County communities as the search for Miller's remains continues.
